Jason A. Daria received his law degree from Temple University School of Law, where he received outstanding recognition for his trial advocacy skills. During law school, Mr. Daria served as a law clerk for the Honorable Gary S. Glazer of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. He has continued his education and training in trial advocacy and civil litigation, and is an alumnus of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Academy of Advocacy of Temple University.
Before joining Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner and Weinstock as a partner, where Mr. Daria continues to practice as a trial lawyer in complex civil litigation matters, he was an associate at Litvin, Blumberg, Matusow & Young.
Mr. Daria has been regularly appointed and serves as an arbitrator in the compulsory arbitration program of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. He serves as a volunteer attorney for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled (at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital), as well as the Support Center for Child Advocates. Mr. Daria has lectured to other attorneys on Orphans' Court procedures in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas and has taught at Villanova University School of Law. He has also served as a volunteer with the Juvenile Justice Center of Philadelphia and Police Athletic League in Philadelphia.
Jason A. Daria was honored in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star.
Mr. Daria's recent successes as a trial lawyer include:
- $15 million verdict in medical malpractice and informed consent case against orthopedic surgeon for permanent nerve injuries following ankle surgery. (Ripa v. Menachem Meller, M.D., July Term 2001, No. 2977)
- $7.7 Million verdict for failure to diagnose tumor in foot.
- $6 Million Settlement in Cerebral Palsy Case.
- $5,010,000.00 Verdict in Nursing Negligence Case
- Substantial settlement of claims arising out of the deaths of a father and son who drown going over a dam which was not marked with warning signs. (House v. B.F. Goodrich Co., et al., December Term, 2000, No. 0330)
- $4,000,000.00 Settlement for head injury to eleven (11) year old caused in a motor vehicle accident in a New Jersey showroom.
- $3.5 Million Settlement in Obstetric Malpractice Case
- $2 Million Settlement for Failure to Recognize Respiratory Distress.
- $1.5 million verdict in medical malpractice and informed consent case against ear nose and throat physician for permanent scarring following unprecedented procedure combining laser surgery and dermabrasion affirmed by the Pennsylvania Superior Court. (Saccomandi v. Joseph Ardito, M.D., et al., February Term, 2000, No. 1915; No. 340 EDA 2003)
- $1,250,000.00 Settlement for Cervical Fusion Caused as a Result of a Motor Vehicle Accident.
- Substantial Settlement in a highway design case against PennDOT and other entities, involving permanent brain damage to a minor who was struck by a vehicle while walking in a dangerously-placed mid-block crosswalk on the Roosevelt Boulevard. (White v. Amman & Whitney, et al., June Term, 2003, No. 0780)
- $750,000.00 Verdict in a Motor Vehicle Accident Case.
- Significant ruling in a product liability action against a German manufacturer, in which the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, reversed the decision of the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey and directed the District Court to transfer the matter to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, rather than dismissing the action. (Khalil v. Otto Bock, et al., No. 03-2949)
